Position Description: We are looking for a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our Construction team to improve infrastructure in our Bay City office. Candidates must have a high school diploma and a minimum of three years related experience of MDOT or MDOT Local Agency Program inspection utilizing FieldManager/Book. HMA and concrete experience, a thorough understanding of MDOT-let contract requirements and a valid driver's license are also required. SESC/Storm Water Operator, Concrete and Density testing certification is preferred. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others.
\n Typical responsibilities include: Conduct field inspections to verify Contract requirements on Construction of Roadways and BridgesPrepare and/or review Inspector's Daily Reports in FieldManager/BookOrganize and maintain construction documentation in FieldManagerAct as the on-site liaison with client and communityInteract and communicate effectively with on-site construction contractorsDevelop an understanding of plans and specificationsAssist Project Manager with contract requirementsPrepare forms and other paperwork in a timely mannerAttend seminars and/or training coursesMaintain excellent client relationsMaintain a safe working environment Education:High School Diploma Skills/Experience:3+ years of related experience requiredHMA and concrete experience requiredA thorough understanding of MDOT-let contract requirements and a valid driver's license are also requiredSESC/Storm Water Operator, Concrete and Density testing certification is preferred.
