We have an opportunity for a Transportation Engineer to join our team in the Cincinnati, Ohio office. This role will focus on supporting design projects related to transportation infrastructure. The successful candidate will perform engineering work requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out related civil engineering tasks such as preparation of plans, designs, calculations, and cost estimates in accordance with established codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities Prepare construction plans, estimates, and other deliverables for transportation projects. Prepare project designs and deliverables in compliance with documented commitments, standards, and quality assurance practices. Work within design team while cognizant of project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Follow all in-house procedures related to documentation of designs and process flow. Attend and document project/client meetings with agenda and/or notes/minutes. Use knowledge of general concepts of engineering elements through investigation and analysis to support engineering projects that focus on transportation systems such as highways, streets, bridges, tunnels, drainage structures, roadway lighting, airports, railroads, and commuter trains. Assist team in preparing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, presentations, and reports, and gather information to support design decisions. Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices. Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer. Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information, and contract document clarifications. Perform field work related to construction activities as required. Provide work leadership and training to more junior professional and technical staff and provides technical guidance to less experienced professionals or technicians assigned to work on a common project. Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff. Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word and Excel. Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil3D or with Bentley MicroStation and Open Roads Designer. Ability to work in groups or alone. Good communication skills, attentiveness to detail, and multi-tasking ability. Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers. Education and Experience Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering with emphasis in Civil, Transportation or Structural Engineering. License/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license in State of Ohio required. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
