Transportation & Mobility Intern

Role Summary: Gather data on shared micro mobility usage and inspect MPRB assets in alignment with the mission, vision, values, goals and objectives of the MPRB to meet the needs and interests of diverse communities
Required Skills & Abilities: Patrol MPRB property using shared mobility during peak hours to assess use of shared scooters and bicyclesReport shared mobility compliance issues on SmartsheetUse Field Maps to report condition of MPRB assetsMake recommendations on placement of new shared mobility assetsInteract with park visitors, providing directions, answering questionsMinimum Qualifications: Class level: junior or senior, needing internship credit for degree program. May consider other class level applicantsField of study: Must be currently enrolled in Park and Recreation Administration, Recreation Programming, Recreation Facility Management, Public Administration, Public Policy, Statistics, Urban Planning, Transportation Studies or a related fieldMust have a GPA in good academic standing (meets minimum GPA requirements, not on probation)Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skillsExperience with electric-assist bicycles and electric scootersInterest in transportationHours Primarily mornings, may require alternate work schedule including weekends and holidays16-32 hours per weekFlexible and will be established within educational requirementsMaximum length of internship is 12 weeks (480 hours, May – August)Compensation: $16.25/hr
