DescriptionRinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) is a distinguished civil engineering firm based in Virginia, with over 180 employees and excellent advancement opportunities for Water Resource/Hydraulic civil engineering professionals. This position will provide leadership opportunities for the development of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, outfall analysis, and stream restoration for a wide range of transportation design projects. Typical projects range from large design/build transportation projects to traditional projects for local government, state, and private sectors.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead technical discussions and oversee the development of the water resource/hydraulic design.Lead project team meetings and present specific aspects of water resource/hydraulic design.Provide design support on multiple projects of moderate size and lead designs on smaller projects.Maintain high standards of work product and provide quality control for peers.Interact with clients, customers, agency representatives, and contractors.Assist the project manager with schedule and budget requirements. Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.Registration as a P.E. in the State of Virginia is desirable.At least 5 years of experience in water resource/hydraulic engineering design.Understanding of VDOT and local policies and procedures is desirable.Strong technical design background in water resource/hydraulic design and familiarity with VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and DEQ standards.Demonstrated teamwork and strong written and oral communication skills.Knowledge of and prior experience in using CADD/Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D) is desirable.
