Job Description ABOUT THE JOB The Transportation/Traffic Assistant is responsible for supporting the Transportation Coordinator with daily transportation/shipping activities, such as gathering cost estimates, completing delivery confirmations, and preparing shipping documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES Act as a back-up to the Transportation Coordinator Execute the daily shipping schedule Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details (verification of shipping address, unloading restrictions, site delivery restrictions, etc.) Use crate quantity/dimensions to gather rate cost estimate options for large shipments or change order costs Generate Bill of Lading documentation and labels for the Shipping Department Understand how to verify panel counts to confirm crate contents for Fenestration Product Shipments Understand how to verify glass piece count to confirm crate contents for Structure Product Shipments Verify status of milestone billing and ensure projects have been released prior to shipment Gather information and related paperwork to submit freight claims to Echo Global Track freight costs Maintain records of shipments Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS : Experience in a related Traffic, Transportation, and/or Logistics Position in an Office Environment Intermediate computer skills (ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills Must be able to maintain the integrity of established processes while working under pressure Able to multi-task Attention to detail required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : 1 – 3 Years of experience in a related position Associate's degree in a related field Demonstrated ability to think ahead to anticipate potential shipping roadblocks Additional Information BENEFITS All the Insurance coverage you'd expect like medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, wellness programs, 401K all effective on your date of hire , and a bonus program plus generous PTO Scholarship program for children of employees Charitable gift matching Adoption Assistance EMPLOYEE PERKS Culture committed to work-life balance Programs in place to support professional development and career growth Stock purchase program and charitable gift matching Associate Purchase Program on All Fortune Brands Products Wear your jeans to work!  At Fortune Brands Innovations, we support the overall health and wellness of our associates by offering comprehensive, competitive benefits that prioritize all aspects of wellbeing and provide flexibility for our teammates' unique needs.
