ID: 51364526 Shift: Day DAYS; 7:30AM- 5PM 4x9 Hr Description: Job Registered Radiologic Technologist is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility of patients for a designated time frame and to provide care, specifically in the Heart & Vascular Institute. The patient population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or invasive radiology study. The Registered Radiologic Technologist will assist the physician in all procedures and provide a valuable service to the patient and the team.Essential Functions:-Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.-All functions and duties will be under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.-Assists with inventory/supplies.-Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.-Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.-Assists in instruction of new staff as necessary.-Documents accurately and completely.-Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.-Accurately informs procedural nurse of correct doses of intra-procedural medications, radiation and sponge/sharp counts.-Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.-Performs all essential functions of the Radiologic Technologist.Department-Specific Duties:-Administers and withholds contrast and treatment as appropriate. -Assess patients for allergies.-Peripheral Vascular work.-Venous Central Lines.-Tube Changes.-Embolization Work (Venous and Arterial).-Venous Thrombectomy Work.-Takes late shift duties as assigned to meet department needs.-Peripheral Vascular work.-Venous Central Lines.-Tube Changes.-Embolization Work (Venous and Arterial).-Venous Thrombectomy Work.-Experience with Interventional Neurology is preferred.-Dialysis work (AV Fistulas, Tunneled Dialysis Catheters, Peritoneal Dialysis Catheters).-Tube access and changes (G-tube, Chole, Neph, Biliary, Abscess, SPC).-Neuro (is ideal) (Cerebral arterial/venous, Kyphoplasty).
