**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** CVICU Cardiac ICU **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30), including 6 weekends (both Saturday and Sunday) **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years required; first-time travelers are welcome **License:** License in hand required with submission **Certifications:** BLS and ACLS required **Must-Have:** - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure - Experience with post-cardiac surgery patients (directly and not directly from the OR), pre and post-cardiac catheterization intervention - ECMO, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/replacement preferred - Experience with CVVHA/CRRT required - Management of arterial lines, blood product administration, central line care, and PICC line management **Job Description:** - 3x12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30 - Float to different campuses as needed - Assist with management of BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilated patients - Interpret ABGs, perform suctioning (ETT, NT), and manage ventilators - Handle various medical surgical cardiac ICU patients, including those with MI, CHF, post-cardiac surgeries, LVAD, Impella, and respiratory failure - Care for open heart surgical patients, AAA repair, vascular surgeries, and ECMO patients - Utilize IV insulin protocols and manage chronic acute renal failure - Administer continuous IV sedation and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips - Assist with chest tube insertion and removal - Use high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and handle sheath removal Note: COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are required, with medical/religious exemptions only. Modules completed during orientation, averaging 2-4 hours, are non-billable and unit-based.
