Certification Details BLS Job Requirements MUST BE WILLING to cross train into general OR if CV volumes are low 3 years of CVOR experience Open Hearts, CABG, Valves Must be willing to work holidays Must be willing to float to the floor as 'helping hands' Staff must be willing to float to other specialties if CV volumes are low Schedule Information 0645-1515 M-F CV RNs make their own call schedule as a group Weeknight/Call Requirements: 1-2 times per week 1515-0645 Weekend/Call Requirements: every 3-4 weeks Fri 1515-Mon 0645 Holiday/Call Requirements: Rotating holidays Call response time: 15 minutes 8 hour reprieve shifts for post call Housing should also be available nearby to make call Sleep room available Days+Call - guaranteed 32hrs, scheduled 40hrs Call hours 1515-0645 Mon-Thurs; 1515 Fri-0645 Mon for weekend First to float Rotating holidays Unit Specific Information # of Suites: 2 CVOR suites Average # of cases per day: 1-3 Common Cases: Open hearts (CABG, Valve, aneurysms), thoracotomies, VATS, Convergent, AAA, carotids, ION robotic cases, ECMO, Impella 5.5, Stryker towers Is scrubbing required for RNs?: No Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Charge Nurse for all shifts 7a-11p M-F, weekends 7a-7p, manager until 4p M-F OR techs?: Yes EMR: EPIC How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 3-4 days hospital clinical orientation, EPIC class and unit orientation/modules; 4-5 days unit based orientation; 2 buddy call shifts, flexible orientation based on recent heart experience Additional Details Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions
