**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 8-hour days, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; CVOR scrub and circulate procedures. Float to general side when not assigned in CVOR. **Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years required, with at least 1 year of full-time experience **License:** RN license required **Certifications:** ACLS and BLS for RNs **Must-Have:** Skillset to work in both OR and CVOR **Job Description:** - The position operates within a surgery unit equipped with 6 suites plus a hybrid room. - Perform a variety of cases per day, ranging from 20-30, including total joints, general surgery, spine, urology, and cardiovascular cases for the Open Heart team. - Scrubbing is not required for RNs in this role. - Work alongside a charge nurse and specialty leads who are available as resources, with a house supervisor on-site 24/7. - Coordination with scrub techs available for support during procedures. - Utilize the Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) system. - Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday, with a requirement for being on call during weeknights and weekends. Call responsibilities are shared equally among staff in the same role. - The response time for call duties is 30 minutes. - May occasionally float to other departments to assist with tasks such as delivering food trays or sitting with patients, though floating to other procedural areas is rare. - Hospital-provided scrubs are required as part of the dress code. - Unit-specific orientation consists of 3-5 shifts depending on case load and exposure. - The role involves considerable call volume (up to 50%), and while on call, staff serve as General OR backup for life or limb emergencies.
