**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Emergency Department **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** 19:00-07:00 **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience **License:** Current California State License as a Registered Nurse required **Certifications:** BLS upon hire, ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire; TNCC and MICN preferred **Must-Have:** - Graduate of School of Nursing - Ability to understand, read, and write in English - Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Intranet **Job Description:** - Render primary nursing care consistent with recognized standards to all patients, families, and the community. - Communicate and collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired, quality patient outcomes. - Demonstrate the ability to delegate appropriately and coordinate delivery of care. - Assume responsibility for the appropriate utilization of care resources. - Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with others in problem resolution and be sensitive to the needs of patients, families, and fellow employees. - Provide care to patients with various illnesses or trauma requiring emergency attention and must effectively recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations. - Report directly to the Manager/Assistant Manager of the Emergency Department and indirectly to the Director of Nursing ED and Inpatient Services, and House Supervisor. - Coordinate with other ED RNs, ED Techs/Clerks to provide primary patient care. - Collaborate with all members of the Health Care Team in the coordination of patient care. - Perform tasks involving exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. - Interpret the appropriate life span needs of patients and provide appropriate population-based care according to the department skills checklist for various age groups.
