Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Job Specialty: Emergency Department Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Variable Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience (excluding travel experience preferred) License: Completion of a board-approved nursing education program; Registered Nurse Certifications: - BLS (Basic Life Support) - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - CPI or MAB/MOAB (preferred) Must-Have: - Experience with neonates to geriatric patients - Competence in assessing and prioritizing patient needs using critical thinking - Proficient in ESI Triage assessments - Experience handling trauma and various critical conditions - Comfort in caring for sexual assault patients and evidence collection Job Description: - Provide care in a busy emergency department with 150-180 patients seen daily. - Handle a range of patient types, including trauma, respiratory illnesses, sepsis, and cardiac events. - Engage in treating patients from minor illnesses to critical conditions. - Participate in a rotation for caring for sexual assault patients, ensuring proper evidence collection. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including 24/7 support from ED physicians, hospitalists, and nurse practitioners. - Utilize the EPIC charting system and Omnicell for equipment and supply management. - Potential to float to Med/Surg, PCU, or ICU areas as a task nurse. - Complete orientation consisting of facility NEO, specific education, and shifts on the unit. - Fill variable shift times and possibly work weekends based on scheduling needs.
