Job Description: As a Registered Nurse in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional healthcare to critically ill patients.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and specialized care.
Your primary responsibilities will include: Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment: Perform thorough and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assessing the need for interventions.
Critical Care: Provide specialized care to critically ill patients, including those with complex medical conditions, post-surgical recovery, and trauma-related injuries.
Ventilator Management: Monitor and manage patients on mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper settings and patient comfort.
Medication Administration: Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as prescribed, and monitor patient responses while maintaining accurate records.
Collaborative Care: Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, including code blue situations, and provide immediate life-saving interventions.
Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
Equipment Operation: Competently operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the ICU.
Infection Control: Strictly adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in state of practice.
BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
Additional certifications such as CCRN or TNCC are a plus.
Previous ICU nursing experience is preferred, but new graduates with a strong interest in critical care may be considered.

ICU RN 13 week assignment 36 hrs (may be required to work up to 48 hrs a week) 12 hr varying (must be flexible to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays) AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, & AHA PALS Any state license 2 yrs of recent ICU experience required EMR: RPMS 04/08 start
