**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Intensive Care Unit (ICU) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum 1 year ICU experience required **License:** GA license in hand required; no pending license accepted **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS (AHA only), Chemo Certification required; NIH, OCN, TNCC preferred **Must-Have:** Trauma Level II facility experience required **Job Description:** - Provide nursing care on the oncology ICU floor that also houses a Medical ICU (MICU). - Focus on surgical care, such as thoracic surgeries, skin flaps, chest tube management, and esophagectomies. - Manage dialysis patients using Tablo equipment. - Collaborate with provider support, including pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary. - Work with a team of Intensivists, NPs, CRNAs, Anesthesiologists, and Hospitalists. - Utilize the Pyxis medication system, EPIC documentation, and SBAR communication. - Attend a 12-hour orientation on the floor (8 hours of general orientation). - Manage an ICU patient ratio of 1:2, with potential to float within areas of competency (MICU, ratio of 1:4). - Experience in a teaching hospital, community hospital, Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC), and/or Trauma Level I facility is a plus. - Perform tasks such as interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, chronic/acute renal failure, CVVHD/CRRT, and blood product administration. - Provide care involving central line and PICC line management, starting IVs, continuous IV sedation, emergency medication administration, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. - Engage in the care of ventilated patients, including chest tube insertion/removal assistance, ABG interpretation, suctioning, ventilator management, infection prevention, and use of PPE. - Preferred skills include experience in Neuro and Surgical Intensive Care Units, Flo Trac/Vigileo Monitoring, and various advanced cardiac procedures and monitoring. Candidates should also demonstrate competency in surgical wounds with drains/wound vacs as well as other critical ICU skills. Travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted.
