**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Intensive Care Unit (ICU) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12H Nights, 7 p.m. - 7 a.m., Every Other Weekend & First to Float **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in ICU **License:** Required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine, NIHSS **Must-Have:** Previous travel experience is preferred **Job Description:** - 20-bed ICU unit specializing in neuro trauma and cardiac patients including surgical, open heart, post-cath, aortic dissection, fem pops, thoracotomies, and CRRT. - Patient ratio is 1:1 to 2. - Cerner is used for electronic medical records. - Charge nurse available who does not take patient assignments. - No nurse aides; nurses must read and interpret tele strips. - Drip medications administered include norepinephrine, precadex, epinephrine, vasopressin, among others. - The unit is equipped with Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators. - An intensivist is available onsite 24/7. - Round-the-clock respiratory therapy and pharmacy support. - Requirement to float to assist in ICU as needed. - One shift of unit-specific orientation provided. - Navy scrubs are required. - Must be adaptable to self-scheduling, although it is not always guaranteed. - Staff may be required to work holidays in accordance with the rotation schedule.
