Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse (LDRP) Job Specialty: Nursery, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum Care Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 hours - Varied Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (basic, intermediate, advanced), NRP, BLS, S.T.A.B.L.E. Must-Have: - Skilled in labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care - Special care nursery skills - Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control - Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations - Excellent communication skills Job Description: - Perform admitting assessments, review patient history, and develop care plans - Initiate fetal heart monitoring and perform vaginal exams - Monitor labor progress and notify physicians of any issues - Assist with breathing exercises, pain management, and medication administration - Prepare the birthing room for delivery using sterile techniques - Provide pre-operative care for elective or emergency Cesarean sections - Assist physicians with Pitocin inductions and monitor labor progress - Document nursing care accurately in electronic health records - Provide immediate post-delivery care to mothers and infants - Conduct post-partum care and patient education - Perform nursery care and operate specialized equipment - Administer medications and solutions as per physician's orders - Initiate and maintain IV and oxygen therapy under physician direction - Admit and care for post-surgical patients following protocols - Perform discharge teaching for patients - Adhere to infection control principles and OB department policies - Participate in in-services and staff meetings - Assist in other hospital areas as required (CNA duties or Visual Observation Sitter) This position offers a cohesive, friendly team environment with beautiful views of surrounding mountains and national parks nearby.
