Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Inpatient Surgical (Medical Surgical) Job Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Not specified Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) or NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: Flexibility with changing assignments during shifts Job Description: - Must adhere to a strict 75-mile radius rule based on the address on the traveler's driver's license. - Orientation hours: 16. - Start date options: 12/2 or 12/16, required to work through mid-January on an 8-week contract with a preference for 13-17 weeks. - Guaranteed 48-hour workweek. - Must work during all holidays. - Charge Nurse for all units. - Nurse Aides/OB tech are available. - Typical patient-to-nurse ratio 1:8, occasionally 1:10, with provision for 1:1 and sitters. - Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. - On-call requirement for low census days. - Holiday rotations are with permanent staff. - Required scrub color: Caribbean Blue. - Telemetry monitoring occurs in different units. - Experience with BIPAP, CPAP, vapotherm, Draegar required, typically used in the evening. - Rapid Response Team and Pharmacy services available 24/7. - Shift start time: 0645 for 12-hour shifts. - Floating required to units such as Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and others. - Floor-specific orientation provided. - Common types of patients include those from orthopedics, neurology, oncology, and acute care. - Cancellation policy of 12 hours every two weeks. - Proficiency with MEDITECH 6.1 charting system. - Previous C-section experience: Not required.
