Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Nursing - NICU Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 2 years in Level III NICU License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Level III NICU Experience Job Description: - Provide care for high-risk newborns. - Deliver respiratory support, including nasal cannula, CPAP, NAVA, conventional ventilation, oscillator ventilation, and nitric oxide. - Manage central lines such as PICC, UAC, UVC, Arterial line, and Broviac. - Administer chest tubes and IV therapy, including maintenance fluids, vasopressor support, sedation, and paralytics. - Perform video EEG and cooling and manage NG/PO feedings. - Implement Eat Sleep Console treatment with medication management. - Participate in training with preceptor and collaborate with ancillary departments and parents. - Ensure exceptional care for high-risk, critically ill preterm and term newborns requiring multi-system support measures. - Work with a 24/7 support team, including a charge nurse, respiratory therapy, neonatologist, lactation consultants, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, case management, pharmacy, dietician, and chaplain. - Use the EPIC charting system and Bridge milk management system. - Operate equipment such as GE B450 cardiac monitoring, Alaris IV and syringe pumps, Medela feeding pumps, and Pyxis for medications. - Follow orientation structure: initial meeting with the nurse manager and educator, on-unit training, and a work buddy assignment. - Remain flexible with scheduling, working when needed, including every other weekend and holidays. - Wear scrubs of any color. Additional Notes: - COVID-19 vaccine required. - Will be fit-tested for personal protective equipment, with single-use PPE and CAPR/PAPR available. - Follows AWHONN staffing standards. - Floating to Women's Care Center for newborn care may be required. - Cafeteria available during day and evening hours.
