Job Title: Oncology Nurse Job Specialty: Nursing Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Flexible to days/evenings/nights & weekends Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years of oncology nursing experience. Must have 2 years of practice experience as a nurse in the acute care and/or ambulatory care setting. License: Must have a valid, current, full, and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state or territory. Certifications: - Current and valid BLS and ACLS Certification by the American Heart Association. - ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Provider Card. Must-Have: - Hands-on experience in all routes of infusion therapy, including peripheral lines, PICCs, implanted ports, and other central venous access. - Experience with different chemotherapy regimens. Job Description: - Provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals following diagnosis and through all stages of treatment. - Responsible for providing medical oncology and other infusion treatments, and education regarding these treatments to patients with cancer. - Ensure continuity of evidence-based nursing care for patients undergoing chemotherapy. - Assess health, related health and nursing needs of patients, their families, and other caregivers by identifying and initiating appropriate steps for effective care. - Participate in the orientation program as scheduled every two (2) weeks. - Adhere to health and safety regulations and infection control standards. - No acceptance of religious exemptions; medical exemptions subject to approval by a medical review board. - Housing application required 2 weeks prior to commencement of employment. - Required to provide holiday coverage.
