Department Description Our clinic features 4 medical oncologists and 2 radiation oncologists. We are a fairly busy clinic, seeing around 130 patients each day. These visits include office visits, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. General Job Duties Work in the infusion room, starting and stopping patients' treatments. Perform port draws and line draws in the lab on patients prior to chemotherapy treatment. Room patients, take vitals, and provide nursing assessments. Offer assistance in the chemo room after training. Equipment Utilized In Department We utilize EPIC and Beacon, the oncology module for EPIC, to ensure efficient and accurate patient care. Required Skills The Registered Nurse is a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Experience in oncology is preferred. Required Licensure/Certifications Active WI RN license Chemo certification preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience, more preferred Unit Specific Training We provide comprehensive training and competencies for all our nurses, ensuring they are proficient in the proper techniques of port draws and chemotherapy administration before working independently. Nurse To Patient Ratio Our ratios are designed to ensure quality care: Chemo room 1:5, doc assignment (1 nurse for each doctor), float & labs.
