**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12H Day (Shifts include 10:00-22:30, 09:00-21:30, and 11:00-23:30) **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required **License:** CA RN License **Certifications:** BCLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only) **Must-Have:** Pediatric experience is a must **Job Description:** - Work in a recovery room providing care for post-operative patients across a range of surgeries, except open heart, including pediatric cases. - Collaborate with unit staff and additional medical support, such as respiratory therapists and anesthesiologists, available 24/7 for patient care. - Monitor and manage equipment specific to PACU needs, including Phillips monitors and ventilators, in collaboration with respiratory therapists. - Ensure patient safety and continuity of care, handling equipment like epidural catheters and pumps, with minimal PA catheter procedures. - Support patient recovery directly, with an average stay of 1-4 hours, and manage ventilated patients who may be transferred directly to ICU when necessary. - Participate in a rotation for on-call responsibilities, approximately three 8-hour shifts every 4-week schedule. - Demonstrate professionalism in appearance adhering to dress code, including wearing scrubs of any color, ensuring no denim, and maintaining minimal professional jewelry. - No floating to other units required. - Experience working in a Magnet-recognized hospital environment is beneficial.
