**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit - Stepdown **Job Duration:** 17 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Days **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years in Stepdown in an acute care setting **License:** Required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS **Must-Have:** - Compliance with radius rule: Must reside at least 75 miles from facility based on driver's license - Ability to read and interpret strips **Job Description:** - Work within a cardiology-focused stepdown unit with 44 beds, including 8 semiprivate rooms - Ratio of 1 nurse to 5 patients - Care for patients post-cardiovascular surgeries and procedures such as CABG, femoral popliteal bypass, arteriogram, carotid endarterectomies, and others - Deliver care to patients with complex cardiac conditions including CHF, afib with RVR, and others - Administer and titrate medications such as Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, lasix, and others - Support non-invasive ventilation therapies, including BiPAP and CPAP - Collaborate with in-house hospitalists or intensivists available 24/7 - Participate in a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and discharges - Work every other weekend and flexible around holidays - Comply with dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs, natural hair colors, no fake nails or facial piercing, and no visible tattoos - Patient charting using Meditech EMR system - Willingness to float to ICU for stepdown patients or task within ICU without ICU experience - Completion of a floor-specific orientation program consisting of three shifts --- For housing, consider safe and regularly available properties.
