**Shift:** Days 3x12 Hr
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 hours per week
**Experience:** One (1) year of nursing experience
**License:** Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state
**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA or ARC)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
**Must-Have:** Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
**Job Description:**
- Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs.
- Attend education programs to enhance skills.
- Use patient education materials relevant to the population.
- Assess patient and family readiness and ability to learn.
- Identify expected patient outcomes and revise plans of care as needed.
- Engage in interdisciplinary team discussions for evaluating patient care.
- Communicate relevant information to ensure continuity of care.
- Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems.
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
- Utilize healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures.
- Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs.
- Consult with appropriate resources for complex care issues.
- Develop goals for professional growth.
- Participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Promote cost-effective care.
- Recognize and synthesize data from complex situations.
- Collaborate with patient/family for care planning.
- Utilize multidisciplinary resources in planning and assessing care.
- Address cultural and ethnic issues in care planning.
- Engage in continuous learning by reading journals relevant to practice.
