Job Description:

- The position is for a Stepdown RN for a 13-week duration with a possibility of extension.
- Flexible work options include 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts, including weekdays, every other weekend, holidays, and floating as needed.
- Candidates must be willing to float and work with various patient types in a general Step Down Unit with a variety of patient populations, including pulmonary, cardiac, sepsis, trauma, CIWA, and DKA, among others.
- Skills required include experience with ventilators, IV starts, telemetry, PA lines, conscious sedation, neuro IV titration, and IV insulin.
- The patient to nurse ratio is typically 1:4, occasionally 1:5.
- Local candidates must reside over 50 miles from the facility to be eligible.
- Flu vaccination is required with provisions for medical/religious exemptions.
- Successful completion of a basic EKG test is necessary, requiring identification of rhythm, rate, PRI, QRS, and interpretation. Pass mark is 80% or higher with no remediation available.
- Orientation includes 16 hours.
