**Job Description:**

- Pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%; open book on skills learned, resources provided.
- Work in a 22-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Handle common diagnoses such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke.
- Required to titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin.
- Assume full patient assignment as a charge nurse.
- Collaborate with nurse aides/patient care techs with a 1:10 ratio.
- Manage CPAP equipment and troubleshoot when necessary.
- Read and interpret telemetry strips.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and discharges.
- Engage in one 12-hour shift of unit-specific orientation.
- Adhere to weekend requirements of every third weekend and one major, one minor holiday.
- Possibility of floating to ICU if experienced and appropriate.
- Use EPIC for charting.
- Exhibit positive attitude, teamwork, and patient-oriented care for success on this unit.
