**Experience:** Minimum of 1.5 years, with some level 1 or 2 experience preferred. Travel experience is preferred.
**License:** Any state RN license is acceptable. Temporary licenses can be obtained within 5-10 days if needed. Compact licenses are now accepted.
**Certifications:** BLS, NIH required; ACLS preferred. Must be able to read and interpret strips.
**Must-Have:**
- EPIC experience
- Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment
- Experience with an RN-to-patient ratio of 1:5 is necessary in the Work History section for Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit
**Job Description:**
- This is a 36 or 48-hour contract where overtime is paid after 48 hours.
- Nurses will be fitted for N95 masks prior to working on the high-risk respiratory unit unless a PAPR is offered or needed.
- Targeted patient ratios are 1:5-6.
- Nurses must be competent in running IV drips such as heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, insulin, and more.
- The typical patient load includes heart failure, chest pain rule-out, NSTEMI, post-procedure patients, COPD exacerbation, and drug/alcohol overdose and withdrawal.
- Flexibility is required for floating within the hospital system; you may be assigned to support the nursing care team of the unit floated to, including units specializing in high-risk respiratory care.
- Nurses must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
- There is a provision to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census.
- Orientation includes up to 24 hours of modules, with 18-24 average hours. Module hours are self-reported to the manager.
- Navy blue scrubs are required.
- Reference checks are not required.
- A flu vaccine is required, with exemptions for medical or religious reasons.
- Request time off must be included during initial application submission; no time off requests or negotiations will be allowed after an offer is made.
- The position requires completing lab work and an EKG/Dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of signing the contract.
