**Guaranteed Hours:** Flexible as per facility requirements
**Experience:** Minimum of 1.5 years required. First-timers accepted.
**License:** Must have an active Illinois license in hand to apply.
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIH required.
**Must-Have:**
- Required Work Setting Experience: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry.
- Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, use of Rapid Response Teams.
- Required Cardiovascular Case Skills/Experience: Post cardiac angiogram care, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, TR band.
- Required Gastrointestinal Case Skills/Experience: Feeding tube care and management.
- Required Genitourinary/Renal Case Skills/Experience: Pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure.
- Required IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs.
- Required Medication Experience/Skills: Heparin protocols, manage cardiac drips (no titration), manage vasoactive drips (no titration), PCA, procedural sedation administration, titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips. Surgical drain experience required.
- Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of ABGs, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management.
- Required Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac. Code blue/rapid response experience preferred. Cerner experience preferred.
**Job Description:**
- The role involves working in a Level II Trauma Center with a total of 372 staffed beds.
- The selected candidate will work within a 20-room/bed Cardiac Unit.
- The nurse-to-patient ratio will be 1:5 for all shifts.
- Responsibilities include floating within the scope to meet facility needs, including potential block schedule accommodations.
- Candidates must comply with all mandatory vaccinations, with the flu vaccine being required and exceptions only for medical/religious reasons.
- The position requires working at least two out of three major holidays.
- Candidates must have Cerner charting experience.
- Orientation includes up to 16 non-billable hours, with subsequent modules completed virtually within the first day and annually thereafter.
