**Job Title:** Registered Nurse

**Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Rotating Shift (3x12s - Straight nights)

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years

**License:** Unencumbered nursing license required prior to start

**Certifications:**
- Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement
- Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of start date
- Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) | American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (preferred)

**Must-Have:**
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in patient care and education
- Competence in EMR systems, particularly EPIC
- Holiday coverage required

**Job Description:**

- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Maintain knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Facilitate coordination of patient care within the interdisciplinary care team.
- Conduct daily rounds on all patients to ensure quality customer service.
- Develop a comprehensive plan of care based on patient assessment.
- Assess and address patient conditions and needs, setting goals and prescribing appropriate nursing actions.
- Promptly assess, intervene, and reassess patient-reported symptoms of pain.
- Identify early warning signs of patient condition changes and respond appropriately.
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patient conditions.
- Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients accurately and concisely.
- Establish and maintain communication and educational opportunities with patients and significant others.
- Begin discharge planning and provide appropriate education and counseling as early as possible.
- Safely assign or delegate nursing interventions to other qualified individuals.
- Complete and submit all required incident reports prior to shift completion.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or needed to meet departmental or organizational needs.
