**Job Description:**
- Work in a 33-bed stepdown unit providing care for various patient conditions including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, and DKA.
- Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 for young adults through geriatrics with complex medical issues, including multisystem failure.
- Titrate drips such as Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin.
- Collaborate with a charge nurse who also takes assignments.
- Collaborate with CNAs at a 1:10 ratio; availability will fluctuate with census.
- Operate RT Equipment including BiPAP and Airvo.
- Independently read and interpret telemetry monitors.
- Follow schedules set by unit schedulers without the option for self-scheduling or block scheduling.
- Work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
- Float as necessary to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care.
- Wear navy blue scrubs according to dress code.
- Undergo thorough orientation with classroom instruction and 24 hours field training.
- Adapt to a busy patient flow with frequent admissions and discharges within short time frames.
Please note that applicants must live within a 50-mile radius and not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility. Limited time-off requests are allowed within the contract period.
