**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Stepdown - Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 12-hour Nights (5:00 PM - 5:30 AM)

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year; ICU experience a plus; travel experience preferred

**License:** Must have IL license

**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS

**Must-Have:** EPIC experience; driver's license required

**Job Description:**

- Unit with 22 private beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 for both day and night shifts
- Common diagnoses include cardiac conditions, open heart recovery (day 3), cranial surgeries, cardiac catheterization, COPD, pacemakers, tracheostomies, and respiratory support (CPAP, BiPAP)
- Nurses are expected to titrate drips, including Cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin (for blood pressure), insulin, heparin, and renal dosing of dopamine/dobutamine
- Team lead during the day does not take patients; nights/weekends/holidays charge nurse will manage patient load
- Nurse aides available with a 1:10 ratio to assist with blood sugars, vitals, and ADLs
- RNs monitor telemetry and a centralized tele tech provides additional support
- Scheduling accommodates block schedules where possible
- Weekend and holiday work required every other occurrence
- Floating to ICU for PCU level patients or med-surg for full assignments may be necessary
- Wear Caribbean-colored scrubs
- Unit orientation includes one 12-hour shift
- No on-call or standby requirement
