**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** 1 year of experience in Stepdown or Medsurg required
**License:** Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
**Must-Have:**
- Critical Care Nursing skills
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
**Job Description:**
- Provide nursing care in a hospital to a range of patients with health problems from simple to complex.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.
- Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing physiological manifestations and intervening when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed, and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently.
- Interact with family and patients to share care plans during hospital stay and discharge.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Maintain good working relationships with other employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.
**Preferred Education:**
- Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program.
