**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** PCU RN - Medical Specialty Step Down

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** 1 year of experience in a Step Down unit

**License:** Current RN License

**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS)

**Must-Have:** Step Down Unit experience

**Job Description:**

- Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary.
- Administer prescribed medication, initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently.
- Interact with patients and families to share care plans, hospital procedures, and during discharge.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
