**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

**Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Nights 3x12 Hr

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year

**License:** Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).

**Certifications:** Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association.

**Must-Have:**
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Some computer skills.

**Job Description:**

- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed. Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently.
- Interact with family members and patients to share care plans during the hospital stay and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
