**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** PCU RN - Med Specialty Step Down

**Job Duration:** 14 weeks

**Shift:** Days 3x12 Hr

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of experience

**License:** Current RN License issued by an appropriate State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)

**Certifications:** Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association

**Must-Have:**
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Some computer skills

**Job Description:**
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing physiological manifestations and intervening when necessary
- Administer medication as prescribed, initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
- Deliver patient care competently
- Interact with family and patients by sharing care plans during hospitalization and discharge
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegate tasks to support staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
