**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 per week
**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of experience required
**License:** Current RN License or a multistate compact RN License
**Certifications:**
- Current Basic Life Support issued by a recognized authority
**Must-Have:**
- Stepdown or Medsurg experience required
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Basic computer skills
**Job Description:**
- Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe the physiological manifestations of patients, and intervene when necessary
- Administer medication as prescribed, and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
- Deliver competent patient care
- Interact with family and patient to share care plans while hospitalized and upon discharge
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegate tasks to support staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
**Education:**
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program
