**Job Description:**

- Provide care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the 4th Floor East Wing
- Care for a patient population that includes adults and pediatrics
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 for both day and night shifts
- Adhere to weekend requirements of working a minimum of every 3rd weekend
- Utilize a self-scheduling system with cyclic scheduling
- Wear navy blue scrubs; Nursing Assistant support available, with navy blue scrubs, CNA Ceil Blue
- Collaborate with a unit that includes a charge nurse, educator, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT
- Manage common patient diagnoses such as CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness
- Administer common medications/drips including PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, and insulin
- Use the EPIC EMR charting system and Alaris IV pumps
- Access mechanical lifts available in every other room
- Be prepared to float to Medical-Surgical areas based on highest needs
- Engage in patient experience challenges with a focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness
