**Job Description:**

- Specialize in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) nursing on the 4th Floor East Wing
- Provide care for adult and pediatric patients in a unit with 55 beds
- Manage patient ratios of 1:4 for both day and night shifts
- Work 12-hour shifts with times from 0630-1830
- Meet weekend requirements; at least one weekend every three weeks
- Participate in self-scheduling and cyclic scheduling system
- Collaborate with Nursing Assistant support and work under the guidance of a charge nurse
- Operate using the EPIC charting system and Alaris IV pumps
- Utilize provided mechanical lifts available in every other room
- Collaborate with educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists as needed
- Address common patient diagnoses such as CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness
- Administer common drips/medications like PCA pumps, cardizem, and insulin
- Participate in hourly rounding and responsiveness initiatives to enhance patient experience
- Demonstrate flexibility to float ideally to medical-surgical areas based on the highest need
