**Must-Have:**

- Experience with mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients
**Job Description:**
- Work in a progressive care unit (PCU) providing specialized care for patients, generally those arriving through the emergency room.
- Responsible for titrating drips such as Heparin, octreotide, insulin, and maintaining dosages of IV medications.
- Manage a patient ratio of 1:4, in a unit with 28 beds.
- Utilize specialty equipment including code carts, LUCAS machines, hoyer lifts, and sit and stand aids.
- Work under the guidance of a charge nurse who also handles assignments.
- Collaborate with nurse aides/patient care techs, maintaining a 1:14 ratio, to deliver patient care.
- Participate in a 6-week scheduling rotation, including every other weekend and holiday rotations with permanent staff.
- Be prepared to float to various areas within the hospital, dependent on skills, including Med/Surg, ICU, and ED.
- Adhere to the navy blue scrub color/dress code.
- Engage in a thorough orientation process, including a week of classroom orientation and two 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation.
- Contribute to a high-flow unit characterized by frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Work alongside a unit secretary available 2-3 days per week and a stocking clerk 3 days per week.
