**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS (AHA)
**Must-Have:** EKG knowledge skills, IV Cardiac Medication administration
**Job Description:**
- Provide acute care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and surgical services.
- Utilize equipment such as Philips Cardiac Monitors, Telemetry, Welch Allyn Vital Signs Monitors, Invasive monitoring devices, Medtronic Pacemakers, Cerner EMR, Pyxis Med dispenser, Zoll R series, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, and Mistral Air Warming units.
- Perform procedures including peritoneal dialysis, management of chronic ventilators, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps, transvenous pacing, and arterial or venous sheath pulling/care.
- Work 12-hour shifts, 3 nights per week, with the possibility of scheduling 4 shifts per week at regular rates if preferred.
- Preferably float to ICU and/or CVICU, requiring basic critical care skills such as arterial lines and sheath pulls.
- Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 RN to 3-4 PCU patients depending on acuity.
- Adhere to dress code: scrubs, business-appropriate hair color (no black/camo).
- Participate in unit-specific training and orientation programs for fast-paced cardiac and cardiac surgery care, handling cases from cath lab interventions to post-operative open heart surgery, and providing care for patients with conditions like STEMI, NSTEMI, chronic ventilators, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, new BiPAP or CPAP setups, thoracotomies, and renal disease.
**Note:** Familiarity with Cerner charting system is required.
