**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** Intermediate Care/Step Down - Pulmonology & Nephrology
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Nights, 3x12 Hr
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
**License:** Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or ARC)
**Must-Have:** Nursing Diploma OR Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited school
**Job Description:**
- Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
- Participate in identifying and meeting personal learning needs and attend education programs accordingly.
- Use patient education materials relevant to the patient population and assess readiness to learn of patients, families, and caregivers.
- Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance in revising the plan of care as needed.
- Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care and participate in care evaluations with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing and utilize healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery.
- Organize and prioritize patient care according to needs and consult with resources for complex care issues.
- Develop goals for professional growth, participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities, and promote cost-effective care.
- Recognize data from complex situations, prioritize care, and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families.
- Collaborate with patients and families to update care plans, utilize multi-disciplinary resources, and address cultural and ethnic issues in planning.
- Engage in professional development through reading relevant journals and sharing insights with staff for practice improvement.
