**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
**Must-Have:**
- Comfortability with MedSurg assignments
- EPIC experience required for first-time travelers
- Experience with the types of patients listed in the job description
**Job Description:**
- Work in a 64-bed unit across two floors, serving mixed acuity patients, including Intermediate Care, Surgical, and Neuro/Spine cases.
- Care for Surgical patients with conditions such as urology issues, bowel obstructions, mass removals, and various abdominal surgeries.
- Manage Ortho cases including total joints, ortho trauma, and minor fractures.
- Handle Neuro/Spine patients post-intervention and surgeries, providing care for CVA/TIA, seizures, brain tumors, and more.
- Attend to patients with general medical conditions such as cellulitis, influenza, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, and CHF.
- Maintain patient ratios of : 1:4, with CNA support.
- Perform skills such as reading/interpreting cardiac strips, chest tube and trach care, NGT and tube feeding management, line management, wound care, and medication administration.
- Participate in drip titration for medications like Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, and others with training available for newcomers.
- Support structures include two charge nurses, flex nurses, RT, hospitalists, and a phlebotomy team.
- Chart using the Epic system.
- Float between various Adult Inpatient Units as needed within scope of practice.
- Complete a comprehensive orientation with two days of classroom learning and two shifts with a preceptor.
- Work rotations to cover weekends and holiday expectations; some flexibility in scheduling possible.
- Compliance in monthly audits for Pre/Post pain scoring required.

- Must wear navy blue scrubs.
- Orientation includes department-specific guidelines, protocols, and educational support for post neuro-intervention care.
