**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

**Experience:** Minimum of 1.5 years of general nursing experience required

**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
**Must-Have:** PCU level RN experience, cardiac procedural recovery experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
**Job Description:**
- Work in a mixed acuity unit with Intermediate, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical care.
- Handle direct admits, Emergency Department admits, and post-procedure patients such as post cardiac catheterization.
- Manage conditions like MI, NSTEMI, STEMI, CHF, dysrhythmia, and pacemaker malfunctions.
- Serve as backup for the Stroke unit and handle medical overflow.
- Provide step-down level care for post cardiac/vascular procedures including post open-heart surgery and post-electrophysiology studies.
- Achieve patient ratios primarily of RN: 1:4, and occasionally 1:3 depending on acuity.
- Utilize required skills in titratable cardiac/vasoactive drips, Heparin drips, chest tube management, and TNK administration (preferred).
- Collaborate with support staff including CNAs, charge nurses, and respiratory therapists.
- Engage with 24/7 hospitalists for patient care support.
- Document and manage patient records using the Epic charting system.
- Flexibility to float to sister units such as General PCU, MS/Tele, or ICU, as needed, within your scope of practice.
**Additional Notes:**
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend.
- Holiday Expectations: Work every other holiday.
- Approval of time off is up to 7 days, with extensions required for a full week's absence.
- Orientation includes two partial days of education and three 12-hour shifts on the unit.
