**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

**Guaranteed Hours:** 48 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 1.5 years of general nursing experience; must have Progressive Care Unit level experience and be willing to float to MedSurg/Tele.
**License:** Registered Nurse (RN) with an approved nursing education program and valid state licensure.
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
**Must-Have:**
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, blood product administration, and various other nursing skills.
- Ability to float between units such as Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Medical, Progressive Care, Oncology, and Heart and Vascular.
**Job Description:**
- Participate in a float pool position within a hospital environment, requiring the nurse to work across various units.
- Handle a range of patient diagnoses, including Orthopedics, Neuro (Stroke, Transient Ischemic Attack), Surgical, and Medical (Urinary Tract Infection, Pneumonia, Failure to Thrive).
- Manage Intermediate Care patients dealing with conditions such as Sepsis, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, End-stage Renal Failure, and Alcohol Withdrawal, along with Oncology and Heart and Vascular care.
- Administer and titrate common drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levo, Dopamine, and Insulin.
- Utilize the Epic charting system; if not experienced, seek manager approval.
- Engage in activities including patient assessments, cardiac procedural recovery, MI pharmacology, and Heparin administration.
- Maintain proficiency in skills such as drain/tube management, catheter insertion/management, continuous bladder irrigation, and chest tube maintenance.
- Contribute to patient care alongside a comprehensive team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy services, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists who ensure 24/7 support.
- Comply with weekend and holiday rotation requirements and collaborate effectively within a structured scheduling system.
