**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - PCU

**Job Specialty:** Oncology

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 12 Hour Nights

**Guaranteed Hours:** 48 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of general nursing experience

**License:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing

**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemotherapy Certification preferred

**Must-Have:**
- Comfortability with MedSurg assignments
- Intermediate Care/PCU level experience
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Experience with titratable vasoactive drips
- Proficiency with chest ports

**Job Description:**
- Provide care for oncology patients, including surgical, new diagnosis, and those with oncology complications
- Manage medical overflow and intermediate level of care with telemetry monitoring
- Administer prolonged chemotherapy infusions safely
- Patient ratios are typically RN 1:4 during nights

**Support on the Unit:**
- CNA assistance (Ratio: 1:8)
- Charge nurse available 24/7
- Phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws; RN responsibility for central lines
- Respiratory Therapist support available 24/7
- Hospitalist presence

**Charting System/Equipment:**
- Proficiency in Epic required
- Familiarity with Alaris and Omnicell systems

**Floating:**
- May float to Adult Inpatient Units as needed, within scope of practice

**Orientation:**
- Online education followed by 2 orientation shifts with a preceptor

**Additional Information:**
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- Holiday work expectations as per contract terms
- Potential for 1.5 weeks off with contract extension to accommodate
- Compliance with monthly audits on pre/post pain scoring required
