**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

**Guaranteed Hours:** 48 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in PCU

**License:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Valid nursing license required

**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

**Must-Have:**
- EPIC experience for first-time travelers
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
- Comfort with MedSurg assignments
- Previous experience with IMC/stepdown patients and neuro care

**Job Description:**

- Provide care in a mixed unit with a focus on Med/Surg to Intermediate Care level patients
- Manage patient ratios of up to 1:5-6 for MedSurg and up to 1:4 for Intermediate Care
- Administer a variety of medications including oral, IV, IM, SQ, and titratable vasoactive drips
- Perform assessments and interventions for patients with conditions such as DKA, cardiac issues, post-surgical recovery, infections, and more
- Ensure proficiency with peripheral IV, midline, PICC and central line management, chest tubes, and drain management
- Provide preventive and restorative skin and wound care
- Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Collaborate with a team including CNAs, charge nurses, and respiratory therapists
- Comfortable with floating to adult inpatient units as needed, such as MedSurg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular, and Oncology
- Participate in two days of unit/department orientation and two shifts with a preceptor
- Be open to working weekend rotations
