**Job Title:** Travel Nurse
**Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
**Job Duration:** 13-week contract
**Shift:** 12-hour Night Shift (start time - 7:00 PM)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years current experience in specialty; at least one previous 13-week travel assignment required
**License:** Valid nursing license required
**Certifications:**
- BLS and ACLS certification required (must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
**Must-Have:**
- Team player, flexible, accustomed to a fast-paced environment
- EPIC experience preferred but not required; training available on-site
**Job Description:**
- Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group during a shift.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
- Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and responses.
- Coordinate patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
- Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician or standard protocols; document according to policy.
- Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs upon admission and throughout the episode of care.
- Assume responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Willingness to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of the primary assigned location, as needed and within the scope of practice.
- Understanding of the expectation to work on call, weekends, and holidays per staff rotation.
**Additional Information:**
- Orientation in the first week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours, includes EPIC training.
- Scrubs required, not provided by the facility; may wear any solid color (the top, pant, and jacket if worn must match).
- Holiday time-off requests will not be approved for travelers.
- Travelers should expect to be the first to float within the facility and to alternate locations within a 20-mile radius of the permanent assignment.
