The primary patients admitted to PCU are those who need less care than standard intensive care but more than what is available on telemetry or med-surg units.The PCU RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The RN acts as a patient advocate. The RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.PCU RN Position RequirementsLicensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse.
