**Job Description:**
- This position will require the nurse to float between various units, including medical/surgical floors, PCU, cardiac floors, rehab, PACU, and inpatient holding space for the ED. The position will not float to the ICUs unless taking a stepdown or modified assignment with an ICU RN as primary.
- The role includes a weekend requirement of every other weekend.
- The nurse will be part of a storm team and may be required to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
- Candidate must be comfortable with floating between three campuses. Majority of shifts will be in the main campus, with potential assignments elsewhere.
- Prior traveler experience is required, as the unit does not accept first-time travelers.
- The candidate must be adaptable to caring for patients across the inpatient spectrum including medical, surgical, cardiac, progressive care/step down, and stroke patients.
- The nurse will work closely with a centralized resource nursing pool, adjusting to the needs and patient populations.
- Unit systems include PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR for medication, documentation, and communication.
- Navy scrubs are required.
- Scheduling is based on scheduling gaps, with a focus on optimizing staffing through the holidays.
- 24-hour unit orientation is provided.
**Interview Availability:**
- Candidates should provide their interview availability for the next 72 hours. An interview with the manager is necessary before an offer is made.
- References from managers or supervisors within the past 12 months are highly preferred at the time of submission.
**Additional Information:**
- Candidates may need to complete up to 10 hours of modules pre-start.
- Travelers cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours in a week.
