**Must-Have:**
- Experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips
- Experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
- Telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Use of rapid response teams
- IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care/management
- PICC line management, Heparin protocols, CVA, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management
- Tracheostomy management, isolation precautions
**Job Description:**
- Target nurse-to-patient ratios are 3:1 or 4:1.
- Contracts available from 13+ weeks up to March 15, 2025, to cover the holiday season.
- Either 36 or 48 hours can be offered in a week. Work beyond 48 hours would be considered optional.
- Nurses may be required to float to a sister unit as needed.
- Weekend work is required every other weekend.
- Patient diagnoses primarily include ICU stepdown {adult/geriatric/adolescent), respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, and various post-op conditions.
- The unit is equipped with bedside telemetry monitors with a remote backup; nurses must recognize and treat dysrhythmias.
- Special equipment includes A-lines, BIPAP's, chest tubes, and trach's; no ventilators on the unit.
- The unit utilizes Pyxis and Epic charting systems.
- Required to wear navy, white, or a combination of navy and white scrubs.
Orientation consists of week one, and the traveler must be available for classes each day. It's mandatory to pass EKG Testing before starting in this specialty. The orientation includes 8 hours of learning, which are non-billable. All modules, ranging from 8-10 hours for acute care roles, must be completed before the start and annually.
