**License:** NC or Compact license pending, required in hand at time of start
**Certifications:** ACLS, BCLS, NIH
**Must-Have:**
- Experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips
- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience
- Telemetry experience, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- IV insulin protocols, Blood Product Administration, Central and Peripheral Line Care/Management
- Experience with PICC line management, Heparin Protocols, CVA
- Experience with chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy Management, Isolation Precautions
- Experience with IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation
**Job Description:**
- Target patient ratios are 3:1 or 4:1
- Requires floating as needed to a sister intermediate care unit
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient population includes ICU stepdown patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, post-operative complications, and more
- Special procedures include managing sedation drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, and others without exceeding one pressor drip per patient
- Use of special equipment like bedside telemetry monitors, A-lines, BIPAPs, and management of tracheostomies
- Nurses must be comfortable recognizing and treating dysrhythmias
- Hospital orientation includes passing EKG Testing prior to starting
- Work fatigue policy limits work to no more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours in a week
- Completion of non-billable modules and orientation hours required before starting
