**Must-Have:**
- Skills: IV Start, Vents, Telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Preferred: NIHSS Certification
**Job Description:**
- This is a night shift position in a mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients.
- Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, flu, and pulmonary embolism.
- The unit requires the ability to float to like units.
- You will also be expected to meet the weekend requirement of 4 shifts in 6 weeks, with flexibility based on staffing needs.
- The unit comprises 48 beds and provides care for patients with chronic trach/vent needs.
- Nurses handle high acuity levels, assisted by a team lead, respiratory therapists, and an assistant nurse manager.
- No nurse will have more than one ventilator patient at a time.
- Resources available include an Admission/Discharge nurse, Vascular Access Team, RRT, Code Team, and Behavioral Health Team.
- Equipment and procedures include chest tubes and drips like dopamine, Cardizem, and heparin.
- Unit systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
- Orientation includes 24 hours specifically aligned with unit needs.
- Nurses must pass EKG testing before starting this specialty.
- Floating to other units or affiliate facilities may be required based on census and skill sets.
- Uniform scrubs should be white or navy blue.
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required, but the flu vaccine is mandatory with exemptions for medical/religious reasons.
**Special Requirements:**
- No RTO (requested time off) is allowed after booking.
- Block scheduling can be accommodated.
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
- RTO is limited to 7 days max.
- Fatigue policy limits work to no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours in a week.
